American Legion Auxillary

Today I submitted my application to the local American Legion Auxillary - Unit 21
They are a newly formed organization and are a part of the local American Legion - Post 21
* The women of the American Legion Auxiliary make a difference in the lives of all Americans.
* They are dedicated to the education of children, organizing community events and assisting our nation's veterans through legislative action and volunteerism.
* The American Legion Auxiliary is the world's largest women's patriotic service organization with nearly 1 million members in 10,100 communities.
* Auxiliary members are a unique group of women, joined in fellowship of volunteerism, patriotism and dedication to veterans, young people and communities.
Eligibility:
* A woman who is eligible for membership in The American Legion is also eligible to join the American Legion Auxiliary. The mother, wife, daughter, sister, grand-daughter, great-grand-daughter, or grandmother of members of The American Legion, and deceased veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces during the listed war eras.
I am eligible through my dad's service in the US Navy.
He was active duty December 15, 1955 through December 03, 1959.
He then was in the US Navy Reserves: December 03, 1959 - December 14, 1961.
