Hectic Weekend

Friday afternoon, I left for Jill's apartment in Conroe.
Jill, Josh's mom (Jeanna) and I assembled, stuffed, stamped and addressed 185 invitations.
Jill is shown here in the final stages of sealing the envelopes.
She was the only one that chose to do it the old fashioned way!
She did survive without getting a paper cut on her tongue!

Saturday morning, Jill and I drove to Huntsville where a bridal shower was hosted by Emily Evans and her daughter Jessie Evans-Hoffman. Jessie is one of Jill's bridesmaids.
They are shown here posing with the special cake made by Jessie.
It was a very lovely shower and lots of fun stories were shared by all!

Saturday afternoon, Jill took me shopping for a "Mother of the Bride" dress.
I think she was worried what I'd end up wearing if she didn't go along.
We were able to find a dress at the first store. It was on even on sale

Yes it's black, but that's what Jill wanted.
I told her I'll feel like I'm going to a funeral instead of a wedding.

She said her colors are black & white, with a pop of red.
She said I couldn't wear white, because she was wearing white.
I didn't want to wear red, because all the corsages are red roses.
So....black it is!!!!!

Saturday evening (Jill, Josh, Karl & I) attended the SHSU Concert Choir performance at
the First United Methodist Church in Huntsville.
I truly enjoy getting to hear Jackie sing whenever possible.
In between music sets, Dr Jason Farris played the massive pipe organ in the church.
I liked all the songs he played, except "Fantasia and Fugue in G Major"
That sounded like it should be played in a horror movie!
