Well today, officially kicks off our kitchen remodel. We've spent the last few weeks deep in details but today was the first day it was put in to action.
We received several estimates for the kitchen remodel. Varying from resurfacing the cabinets, stock cabinets and custom cabinets. We decided to go the custom cabinetry route and our remodeler is DFW Improved.

It will be a very busy couple of weeks. The hardest part, will be eating meals only cooked on the grill or microwave. There will be no sink to do dishes until the granite is installed.
To get you up to date this is what we've done so far:
1) Remodeling proposals.
2) Custom cabinet door designed
3) Shopped for new door - Order has been placed.
4) Shopped for new faucet - Ordered and received
5) Shopped for backsplash tile. Picked out, picked up and cut and ready for installation.
6) Shopped for floor tile. Picked out a style in 13" x 13"; returned for larger size 20" x 20"; and now we are going to return these four boxes for a different style...more on that story when Doug actually tiles.
7) Research lights for ceiling and under the cabinet. (Did you know that Congress is banning incandescent lamps by 2014? click here for the story.)
Time to stock up on your incandescent bulbs or switch to the energy efficiency of flourescent, Xexon or LED!!

3 CM of granite??? What do you intend to be doing on those countertops? Having a dancing contest with all your friends? That's some serious granite...
'splain to me how you've already cut the backsplash tile. The cabinets aren't up...
Oh, and the link to the demo pictures doesn't work for me. Gives me some 'DOMParser is Undefined' message. Maybe it's my PC...
