Monday morning, I called Veteran's Outpatient Clinic in Denton. They said they could not see him until he had a primary care physician assigned to him. He would have to go to Dallas, Fort Wroth or the Bonham location and be admitted through the E.R. and then he would be assigned a Primary Care Physician and then he could be transferred to any outpatient clinic in the area.
All three locations were 50-60 miles from here. So we opted for the Bonham location. It is a more rural location and he would be able to drive there more easily if he needed to go back.
He was seen by Dr Dao, who incised & drained his cyst. I won't bother you with all the "gruesome" details....and there are a few. He had the area packed with a drain and he has to go back in a few days and have it checked to see if a new drain is necessary or if it will need a suture to keep it closed. He is on a antibiotic as well.
The visit to Veteran's in Bonham...was a very pleasant experience. Even though the wait was long, everyone was very pleasant and friendly. When one patient got "loud" and made some very rude comments to the staff and patients waiting in the waiting room. The staff came around to each patient and apologized for his behavior and offered snacks.
