Saturday, Sept 19th.
Arrived in Las Vegas around 2:30pm. Took the mobility bus to the rental car area. After waiting in a long line at Enterprise and dealing with the attendants not having keys for the car we rented. We were finally matched to a 2009 Pontiac G6. We drove to the Hampton Inn and check in. This is where we would be spending our first night. We then drove to the Bellagio to pick up our tickets for "O" a Cirque du Soleil performance. We then strolled over to the Sports Betting window. Now mind you were are not much for gambling...but the Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Marquez fight was to happen at the MGM Grand later that evening. We had just watched historical fights of both of these fighters and we had decided that Marquez could actually win. We placed a $25 bet and with the odds at the time, a winning bet would pay out $110. If you are up on your sports, you will know that Marquez lost that fight and we lost our money...So much for gambling this trip! We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Applebees and Doug especially enjoyed his Sam Adams Octoberfest (It is a special beer made by Sam Adams just this time of year and he looks forward to it every fall). After dinner we went to the "O" a Cirque du Soleil show at the Bellagio. We had great seats. Balcony, single row. The performance takes place IN the water, ON the water and ABOVE the water. Too much to go into now..but a wonderful show to take in if you get the chance!
Sunday, Sept 20th.
We slept in until 11am. We checked out of the Hampton Inn at noon. Ate breakfast at Denny's. Gotta love those Grand Slam breakfasts! We drove around the Las Vegas area. Doug did some cigar shopping, while I took in the unusual sites of air conditioners on residential roofs and cell phone towers made to look like trees to blend in with the environment. You'll see what I mean when you look at the photos. We checked in to the Bellagio at 3pm. We got a great deal to finally stay at the Bellagio. $159 / night. Stay two nights, get the third night free. We purchased beers and watched the Dallas Cowboys vs the NY Giants. The Cowboys would lose 33-31 but it's always an exciting game due to the rivalry. After the game, we went to Johnny Rockets ...home of the original hamburger. We shared a cheeseburger, fries and strawberry shake. Strolled through the casino, but opted to not do any gambling after what happened yesterday!
Monday, September 21st
We slept in until 11am again...oh how I love being on vacation. Breakfast/Lunch was at IHOP. Where we witness a thoughtful gesture of an older couple that bought someone less fortunate's meal. After breakfast, we went to the Luxor and purchased a couple of tickets for the Bodies Exhibit. I believe this would be like BodyWorks for those of you that have seen that. The exhibit was a little run down, so if you have the opportunity to see this, I'd pass. After all the walking at the exhibit, it was back to the Bellagio for some R&R...Dee needed to rest that knee for a while. Dinner was at El Pollo Loco. Doug has visited one of these chain restaurants in the past and spoke highly of the fire roasted chickens. It is quite a place, it had about 50 whole chickens on the grill. You could order chicken tacos, chicken burritos, chicken sandwiches, chicken & mashed potatoes,etc..... After dinner, we drove downtown to see the "Fremont Experience". If you don't know what that is, it's an open air party. A street is blocked off between all the casinos on Fremont Street. There are many street vendors performing and you can walk down the street with your drink in your hand without any problems. There is a digital screen overhead that puts on a show every 15minutes. Quite a place! Doug & I went into Binion's Casino...Doug won playing Craps; but I lost playing the slot machines. They were just not talking to me! We then proceeded to go back to the Bellagio where we finished off our evening watching the Bellagio Fountains. A choreographed water show to music that happens every 15minutes, each evening.

We slept in again...can you guess? 11am! No breakfast today. We headed to IN-N-OUT BURGER. A place known for it's fries. They actually employ a person full-time to make fresh fries all day long. He uses a hand slicer and cuts all the fries right before they go in the fryer...Yummy...The burger was awesome too! In the afternoon, we went to the Luxor to see the Titanic Artifacts Exhibit. It was awesome. It had lots of personal items recovered from the wreakage as well as pieces of the ship. I've been on a cruise before, but this ship was massive!
We ended the day with dinner at Sammy's on the Sahara - Woodfired Pizza. Excellent food!
We would spend the rest of the evening watching TV and packing as we head home tomorrow.
