I've gotten progressively worse each day with rash on my face and left leg; mouth, throat, nose & peri-anal ulcers.
I haven't been able to eat or drink anything much for the past 2 days because it hurt to swallow so bad. It was taking an hour to eat one container of yogurt. Ulcers are on my tongue, under my tongue, cheeks, uvula, gums and throat. It even hurts to talk as you use your tongue to made the sound for so many letters.
I went to bed at 1am on Sunday morning and woke up choking at 3am. My nose, tongue, lips and gums were bleeding. I paced the floor for a few hours...anxiety had set in pretty good at that point...so at 5am, I headed to the Presbyterian Hospital of Plano - Emergency Room.
My diagnosis: severe dehydration - they gave me IV fluids. The doctor was very good and he wanted me to see a rheumatologist soon as he thinks I may have Drug Induced Lupus. He told me to stop taking the Levaquin. It is one of many drugs known to cause this reaction. So I've been off the Levaquin for one day now and I can swallow a "little" better this morning. Lips and tongue are still bleeding today.
My appt with the rheumatologist is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday Dec 6th at 3pm. So I'm sure there will be a barage of blood tests to be expected. The appt is scheduled for an hour, so guess he will be thorough in his history.

Stay tuned for more info on how this progresses to see if this diagnosis will be confirmed or not.
