It's Official....

WE MADE IT!!!!
Yesterday it was 107 degrees.  This broke a couple of long standing weather records records.

First Record: Yesterday marked the 70th day of triple digit temperatures, breaking a record previously set in 1980 of 69 days of 100+ degrees. This put an exclamation point on what has been the hottest recorded summer in the state.  It would have been nice to break the record of the consecutive days of triple digit heat, but we narrowly missed that record by 1 day.

Second record: Before yesterday, the latest date a temperature breaking 100 degrees had been recorded in Dallas was August 13,1964. It took 47 years to break that record. Temperature this high is very unusual for this time of year and I think all Texans are looking forward to some nice cool fall weather.

But some relief may soon be on the way, a cold front was expected to move into North Texas overnight on Wednesday, dropping high temperatures into the 80s on Thursday. No rain was expected.
I think I will mow the yard tomorrow!
