This morning we grabbed breakfast at the hotel and then drove to the BART(Bay Area Rapid Transit Station).
We purchased round-trip tickets to the Oakland Coliseum for $4.60 each.
It was a great way to get to the baseball stadium without having to pay the high cost of parking at the venue. As you can see by the map below we didn't have to go very many stops (Hayward to the Coliseum).
The BART rail dumped us right off at the coliseum, we walked over a bridge and were right there.
We had seats in Row 1 - Seats 10 & 11.
We were just behind the Infield Box Seats.
We were one section away from the visitor's dugout and just down from the pitchers warm-up mound.
You will see in the photos how close our seats were to the action. There was only one foul ball that came our direction. It bounced just two rows behind me. Gotta keep those eyes on the game when you sit here!
Awesome seats just off of the first base line!!!!!
Thursday was FREE HOTDOG day at the park. So we enjoyed our "dogs" and washed them down with some stadium priced beers. All in all it was a good day, even though the Texas Rangers would end up losing that day (4-3). The Texas Rangers have since clinched the American League West division and are playoff bound. We hope we get to see them play in the World Series again this year!
We rode the BART rail back and spent the rest of the afternoon cooling off in the hotel.
In the evening, we went to Safeway and purchased a bottle of Grgich Hills wine to bring home in our suitcase. Then it was off to dinner at the Olive Garden. My food order (Mixed Grill) got messed up so I got mine free as well as a free dessert (white chocolate raspberry cheesecake). SCORE!!
