V-E-R-Y Cold in Dallas

The lowest temperatures in 15 years, have hit Dallas Tx.

We woke up this morning to our spa frozen over.
That has never happened before.
Doug had to chisel the 1" thick ice in front of the gate to the pool equipment.
He has turned on the heat to the pool to keep things from freezing again.
An Arctic cold front dumped a mix of sleet and snow on the Metroplex on Tuesday. But it's not over yet -- bitterly cold temperatures could keep many roads and streets covered in sheets of ice. By Wednesday morning, more than 750 school districts, schools and businesses announced another round of closures for Wednesday, with dozens more announcing delays.

The temperature will plummet into the single digits for the first time since 1996. The wind chills dropped well below zero overnight, to as low as -12 degrees early Wednesday morning.

And to top it off,The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) has ordered utilities to begin rotating outages to compensate for a generation shortage due high usage in extreme weather. The outages are necessary because there is a power generation shortage due becuase some plants were knocked offline due to extreme weather. We haven't lost power yet, but we've been warned it's inevitable. Luckily power outages are only lasting 10-45 minutes!
