Fan Blade Update

The FAN BLADE SAGA continues...
Doug was unable to spray paint Jackie's fan blades without the paint bubbling up.
Even after sanding, they just didn't look right.

Solution: Take the fan blades from the ceiling fan in the guest room and put them in Jackie's room, then replace the entire ceiling fan in the guest room.

Pictured above is the new ceiling fan in the guest room.

Josh in the ER - 2 mm Kidney Stone

Jill's fiance, Josh went to the E.R. last night for severe abdominal pain.
He was diagnosed with having a 2mm kidney stone.
They sent him home from the ER with pain medication
and stated that it "should" pass in a day or two.

We wish Josh a "quick" passing of his stone!

If you would like to wish Josh well in his recovery.

Fan Blades

As part of sprucing up the house, Doug has cleaned all six of the ceiling fans.

In Jackie's room, he found her fan blades were damaged.
She had at one time, during her high school years, taped streamers to her fan blades.
When the tape was removed so was the paint on the fan blades.

This is the fan without the fan blades.
This is Doug sanding the blades in prep for the spray paint.

This is Doug spraying the fan blades.

Hectic Weekend

Friday afternoon, I left for Jill's apartment in Conroe.
Jill, Josh's mom (Jeanna) and I assembled, stuffed, stamped and addressed 185 invitations.
Jill is shown here in the final stages of sealing the envelopes.
She was the only one that chose to do it the old fashioned way!
She did survive without getting a paper cut on her tongue!

Saturday morning, Jill and I drove to Huntsville where a bridal shower was hosted by Emily Evans and her daughter Jessie Evans-Hoffman. Jessie is one of Jill's bridesmaids.
They are shown here posing with the special cake made by Jessie.
It was a very lovely shower and lots of fun stories were shared by all!

Saturday afternoon, Jill took me shopping for a "Mother of the Bride" dress.
I think she was worried what I'd end up wearing if she didn't go along.
We were able to find a dress at the first store. It was on even on sale

Yes it's black, but that's what Jill wanted.
I told her I'll feel like I'm going to a funeral instead of a wedding.

She said her colors are black & white, with a pop of red.
She said I couldn't wear white, because she was wearing white.
I didn't want to wear red, because all the corsages are red roses.
So....black it is!!!!!

Saturday evening (Jill, Josh, Karl & I) attended the SHSU Concert Choir performance at
the First United Methodist Church in Huntsville.
I truly enjoy getting to hear Jackie sing whenever possible.
In between music sets, Dr Jason Farris played the massive pipe organ in the church.
I liked all the songs he played, except "Fantasia and Fugue in G Major"
That sounded like it should be played in a horror movie!

Fence Post Repair

During one of the last storms, Doug saw we had a broken fence post.
He is shown here, spending his Saturday, trying to remove the post
The post was broken below the dirt line and he also needed to
remove the concrete surrounding the post.
He attached a "long" bolt into the wood in the ground and is using his jack to leverage it out.

We were worried the fence post might break before the wood/concrete were removed.

Need to add another board!

Need to add a third board!

I can see it coming out!

Look how deep the wood/concrete went!!

IT'S OUT!!!!!

This is Doug removing the "long" bolt from the wood post that was below ground level.

A new post in place and ready for concrete!

Zac Brown Band

Friday night, Doug and I attended the Zac Brown Band in concert at the Nokia Theater
in Grand Prairie, TX. This is a venue of about 6,000+ seats. Sold out crowd!

The band played for 3 and 1/2 hours!!!!!!
It was a fabulous evening of entertainment!

We heard some of their new songs and we look forward to their next CD with anticipation.
Our five favorite songs are: Whatever It Is, Toes, Free, Hwy 20 Ride
& Where The Boat Leaves From
