I don't think Andrew will ever be lonely!!!!

Andrew - Day 3

Jill and Andrew were discharged from the hospital on Thursday. That was 2 days in the hospital for a c/section. Jill has continued to do great, but since Andrew was discharged so soon, he needed to be seen in the doctors office for his 48 hour check-up.  So we took him on his first outing to the doctors office on Friday morning.

He is shown here bundled up in his very cute bear coat,
given to him by our neighbors (Greg & Hilary Hagen).
Jill is shown consoling Andrew after getting measured & weighed.
Andrew being weighed by the nurse.
He weighed 7 lbs 3oz at birth.
After 48 hours he weighed 6 lbs 11 oz.

Andrew - Day 2

Today, I was only at the hospital about 4 hours.
I went and relieved Josh so he could go home and take a nap, get a shower and grab some lunch.
Andrew did not sleep so much last night, so both parents were exhausted.

While he was gone, he missed some visitors.
The pediatrician and gynecologist were in as well as several members of hospital staff
(hospitality, birth certificate/ social security#; hospital photographer)

Jill also received a visit from a Mindy, a co-worker from McKesson.
She brought Andrew some balloons, a baby wreath for the door and a few adorable outfits.
Later, Josh's sister Becca and her 4 kids stopped by for a short visit on their way home.

Jill is shown after feeding Andrew.

Jill didn't want her picture made, she hadn't had a shower and didn't have any makeup on.
She still looks like a beautiful mother to me! And it doesn't look like Andrew minds at all!

Before lunch, Karl and Audrey stopped by for a short visit.
Karl held Andrew the entire time. He is a proud uncle!

Karl eventually started the parental sway and he quickly learned Andrew likes getting his back rubbed.

Hopefully everyone got all 4 of the updates I sent.
I didn't have access to blogger at the hospital.

Summary: Jill admitted at 4am...pitocin started...water broke on it's own; epidural at 9:30.
She was not in pain for any of her contractions. Labor never progressed passed 8 cm.
Every time she would have a contraction, Andrews heart rate would tank. So the doctor on call scheduled a c/section. There were no complications. Andrew has a slight bruise on his head where he got stuck trying to get through the birth canal.

Both mom and baby are doing wonderfully!

Lots more pictures to come in the future!!!

Baby Elliott - Update #1

Baby Elliott - Update #1

Jill was admitted to Memorial Hermann Hospital (The Woodlands) at 4am today to be induced.

She is on the First floor - Room 1263

She was started on pitocin to get contractions going to see if her water would break on it's own.

A little after 7am her water did break on it's own.

The doctor was in around 8am and she is dilated to 3cm and will be getting her epidural within the hour.

Jill's First Apple Pie

Jill wanted to learn to make an apple pie. I did not have my recipe so I called my mom for her recipe.
I think it was a National Security secret, because she wasn't letting on too much. So we took her recipe and improvised "a little".

Jill cooking down the apples.
She is so excited for Josh to see what she can do!
We took a short cut with the pie crust and used the Pillsbury ready made kind.
Fresh out of the oven!
Smells wonderful!

Baking Cookies

Today Jackie came over so that all of the girls could do some baking.

We made puppy chow, gingerbread cake and cut out cookies.

Jackie is shown here with flour on her face/glasses and getting ready to roll out the last bit of cream cheese cut out cookie dough.
