Friday my Mom and I both had appts with Dr Beth Anglin, a breast surgeon in Plano. We both have had breast issues so I made appts for the same date/time.
Mom had her screening mammogram done right before leaving Iowa to travel to Texas.
The mammogram was abnormal "suspicious of malignancy".
My issues were related to chronic breast cyts and nipple discharge.
We were both examined.
Mom will have a "diagnostic" mammogram next Thursday followed by a biopsy. Hopefully this will just show the suspicisou spot to be a calcification and benign in nature.
I had a breast ultrasound at the time of the appointment. The breast cysts were numerous in both breasts. The doctor only took measurements of the 8 largest ones. She told me to try taking Vitamin E for the breast pain for 2-4 weeks and come back for fluid aspiration once the cyst size was unbearable. The nipple discharge is normal for fibrocystic breast disease.
