Well I have returned from a week of whirl-wind events.Tuesday, June 22nd: I flew to Minneapolis and stayed overnight with the Swanson family.
They took me out for a Davanni's hoagie. YUM YUM!!
Wednesday, June 23rd. The day started early with all of us going to watch Makayla's Tball practice. Then Jenny, Makayla & I drove down to Iowa and stayed at my Mom & Dad's in Pomeroy as my mom was scheduled for an angiogram and some type of heart surgery depending on the type of blockage they found during the test.
Thursday, June 24th: Garry, Tammy & Bradley drove to Iowa. Mom's surgery was postponed from 7:30am to 12:30pm. Someone was in worse shape than her and needed emergency surgery. Mom would not have her angiogram until 3:10. She was out of the test by 4pm. The doctor found no blockage, what so ever. He stated "I hope my heart is as good as yours, when I'm 71!" The stress test she had done the week prior showed a complete blockage but now it was all of a sudden gone! Miracles do happen! Mom's sister's church was doing a prayer circle for her. They started praying at the time the surgery was supposed to start until it was over. My church was praying and Jennys church was praying also. So with all those extra prayers, miracles happened. Thank you all!! Mom would have to stay at the hospital until 10pm. It was a very happy day.
Friday, June 25th: Garry had scheduled us for a visit at the Fonda Museum. The entire family spent about 2 hours going through the large exhibit of local antiques and memorabilia. Makayla and I stopped down at my mother & father-in laws house in Fonda and enjoyed a short visit with them.
Saturday, June 26th: Jenny, Makayla and I would drive back to Minnesota. Later in the day, the Swanson family would take me "frisbee golfing" at a local golf course in Rosemount. I was able to do it just fine with my knee and all. Jenny kept mothering me and was sure I'd over do it. Jen & Dwight went to a movie "The Grown-Ups" and I babysat Makayla. We had a great time watching "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs". This was followed up by some "sockball game", "sockball Hide & Seek". There was a storm brewing and the sirens rang, so MK and I packed up some of her belongings and headed to the basement. It was short lived but we stayed up til the storm was just about over. Jen & Dwight, didn't hear any sirens during their movie.
Sunday, June 27th: Got up ...way early 4:45am. Left the Swanson houseold by 5:15am to get to the MSP airport. My flight to Dallas was at 7:10 am. I arrived home safe & sound. It was great to see all the family.
The trip was not all fun. I did take my laptop along and worked during the free times.
Makayla would set up her toy laptop across the table from me and record all the 6 digit numbers from my remote secure id generator. It was so cute!
Anyways...I'm glad the trip was un-eventful as far as my mom was concerned but it was still great to see everyone even under these circumstances.
