My mom was discharged from the hospital today - the doctor wanted her out before she caught any more infections from being exposed to other germs being in her immune compromised state. It sounds like all the doctors got together and decided she has an entervesical fistula (an abormal passage or tear between the bladder and intestine). This sharing of micro-organisms in her bowel and bladder have combined to make a super infection. The infection in her stomach has however, been cleared up.
She will be having surgery scheduled soon to have this fistula repaired.
