Frustrating Friday

Friday, Doug and I had the day off. We started the day with yardwork. I mowed the yard, while Doug edged & trimmed the yard. We then got ready for a "frustrating" day of running around.

Stop 1 - Sam Pack - Ford Country in Lewisville. My truck was a few hundred miles over due for an oil change. We dropped it off at around 10:30am. The service advisor, states "Do you have an appointment?" Which we responded in unison "For an oil change?". I'll save you the rest of the dialougue...but turns out the dealership is doing about 40-60 oil changes per day and you now need an advance appointment. We left the Expedition for the day and hoped for the best. We got a call around 4:30pm that they had worked it in to the schedule. We were there to pick it up just before closing time at 6pm and still had to wait.
Stop 2 - Bed Bath & Beyond in Lewisville. We had been looking at some rugs for the kitchen. We had seen one we liked last week at the BBB in Frisco but they only had one. So we stopped in Lewisville and they had NONE! So off to BBB in Grapevine. They had two which we purchased. We were "extremely coupon saavy" and I bought one rug which was originally $19.99 but was marked down 50% at $9.99, then used a 20% off coupon for additional savings. I had a second 20% off coupon so Doug made a separate purchase as well. Now we have two rugs and still need to purchase the third one for the back door. Guess I will be making a trip to Frisco next week!

These rugs are 20 x 32 - 100% polypropylene with a fabric border and felt/non-skit backing.

Stop 3 - Lunch at WhatABurger

Stop 4 - Architectural Carpentry Materials We were looking for specific "stain grade" trim pieces in either maple or poplar. They did not have anything close!

The next few stops were also unproductive. No one had what we were looking for. We did happen in to the Home Depot in Lewisville looking for window glazing bead for some of our hail damaged windows. They did not carry it but the knowledgeable representative told us where we could find some. Southwest Glazing Supply They are only open Monday-Friday 8-5 and it was almost 6pm so Doug will have to see if he can stop by on his lunch hour next week.

One of our other stops was Market Street. Here we picked up some Mahi-Mahi and Key West shrimp. This will be dinner for Saturday night when Jill & Josh are here.

After picking up the truck we headed home for a quick sandwich and some R&R (yes that means beer was involved).

Our last stop for the day was Walmart . We picked up some groceries for the weekend and got them unloaded right before Jill & Josh arrived for the weekend.

What a way to spend an entire day of vacation!
