It's Friday - Oh My!!!

Friday morning, we received a call from Jackie around 8am. She was on her way to do an music class observation at a middle school near Houston. She was driving down I45 in The Woodlands when she heard a loud noise and her car acted funny. She pulled off on the side of the road and turned her car off. She tried re-starting her car, but the CHECK ENGINE light came on.

Doug talked to her and told her she would probably have to call a tow truck since it was not driveable. I got on the computer to find her a tow truck service to call. The first one would not pick up in her area (Exit 77 on I45). The second one (A&W Towing) told her they would be there in about 30 minutes. She called her brother who works nearby and he was able to sit with her until the tow truck arrived.
The tow truck took her 98 Toyota Camry to Gullo Toyota in Conroe. Doug called and spoke with one of the service writers (Doug Smith). The service man called Doug later in the day and said the water pump had blown and shredded the timing belt. Part & labor replacement = $684
Jackie was able to rent a car (Toyota Yaris) for $30 day.

The Camry should be fixed by Saturday afternoon and she will be ...on the road again!!

What a way to start the day!
But Doug says....everyone should have car stories.

Karl had a car story on Monday, but hopefully he will blog about that.
If not, call me for the details.
